On 15th April 2022, the Asian Literary Society and ALS Parwaaz Forum (an initiative by ALSphere Foundation) organized an art workshop with people of determination at Mawaheb Art Studio in Dubai. ALS Parwaaz Forum’s this art workshop with five UAE-based artists was to encourage people of determination in their creative endeavors.
The event began with an inaugural address by Mr. Manoj Krishnan (Founder, Asian Literary Society). He focussed on the need to hone the skills of people of determination from all over Asia and help them to get a sustainable source of income.
Ms. Nisha Tandon (Chapter Head, ALS UAE) elaborated on the commendable work done for the people of determination in the UAE. She also shared the glimpses of programs done by ALS Parwaaz Forum with the special needs community in the past.
Ms. Wemmy de Maaker (Founder & Managing Director at Mawaheb from Beautiful People) said that young adults with special needs should be seen as artists and people, not to be pitied. She appreciated the ALS Parwaaz forum’s art workshop for people of determination with noted artists.
Noted UAE-based artists Ms. Aanal Shah, Ms. Amrita Sachin Bhatia, Ms. Archana Tanna, and Ms. Reha Sisodia conducted this art workshop with people of determination.
The event was moderated by Ms. Nisha Tandon and Ms. Ketki Raina.
The program ended with the felicitation of all the participants by Ms. Shivpriya (Director, ALSphere Foundation) and a vote of thanks.
The ALS Parwaaz Forum’s art workshop was highly appreciated by the families and caregivers of people of determination who applauded ALS Parwaaz Forum and its this initiative.
ALS Parwaaz Forum is a social initiative platform of ALSphere Foundation. It is a support group for individuals of all ages with various disabilities, alongside their families and caregivers.
