“A woman of Substance” – Payal Mandewalkar
Meet Mrs. Payal Mandewalkar, an engineer and Model by profession. She was born in the small town of Maharashtra, raised in Mumbai and went on to winning Mrs. Asia World Elitec 2021 pageant organized by Rashmi Bedi, CEO of Mydreamtvusa.
For her, fashion is an individual’s statement of self-expression. Today she is a well-known fashion blogger and writes her own blog entitled Payal’s Fashion Palette. She is also an Instagram influencer where she has received many product endorsements and paid promotions through which she supports small businesses and inspires thousands of her followers.
She has always aspired to become a model, but has gotten rejections for not fitting into the unrealistic image of a tall, thin, and “perfect” model body. As a result, she turned towards social media as an outlet for showcasing her styles and began to represent fashion as all-encompassing and inclusive. She inspired many women around the world, gained support exponentially, and received countless opportunities.
She was fortunate to get trained in modeling and ramp walk by famous choreographer Lubna Adams who choreographs for famous celebrity designer Manisha Malhotras fashion shows. She also walked for Bollywood designer Rohit Verma for a charity event.
Her dream come true moment was walking in “New York Fashion Week” for different designers including Drisha closet by Deepthi reddy, Michelle’s House Of Design, Designer Dream Collection by Anjali Phougat, Mini’s Collections by Yamini Shetty and Mosi’s collection in February 2022.
She utilizes her skillset to be a pageant coach, and received many awards like International Influencer of the year 2020-2021, Inspiring women award 2021, Mrs charismatic 2020, Woman Empowerment Award 2021.
She loves to dance and choreograph and have been playing cricket from last 7 years in Women’s Cricket Tournament.
She has recently acted in few short films for which she won the best costume award at Texas Kannada Short Film Festival.
Her biggest strength is her family and friends who interminably support her in all her endeavors.
She has always believed success and hard work go hand in hand, and it’s never late to pursue your dream if you put your heart and soul into it.
