In 1999, she transitioned from a promising corporate career in banking and marketing to full-time teaching, guided by a deep belief in education as a nation-building endeavour. Academically accomplished, she holds distinction in English Honours in her 4 year integrated B.A. B.Ed. course from RIE, Bhubaneswar run by  NCERT.  She went on to do MBA and M.Ed. (A+) equipping her with strong pedagogical grounding and contemporary academic perspectives.

Under the proven track record of the Principal Shubhra Varma, the school got CBSE affiliation in its first attempt and within 2.5 years of its start/inception, especially in an era when CBSE is deaffiliating schools pan India or rejecting fresh applications for affiliation due to non- compliance is a huge achievement. Under her guidance, the institution established a 4,500 square feet AI, Robotics,  Aeromodelling composite Skill Lab and Design Thinking Lab, providing students with structured exposure to problem-solving, creativity, and real-world applications. This initiative positioned the school as a pioneer in skill-based education, making it the first institution to host the Regional World Skill Challenge from a non-metro city, a milestone that brought national attention to Nashik’s evolving educational landscape.

Ms. Varma’s leadership in this domain was nationally recognised when she was honoured as an Awardee at the Skill Bharat Samman 5.0, selected from over 18,000 principals and trustees across the country. The award, presented at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, acknowledges her outstanding contribution to introducing and integrating skill education in schools, reinforcing the relevance and impact of her work in preparing students for a rapidly changing world.

Ms. Shubhra Varma’s leadership has earned her further nation-wide recognition as an influential voice in education. A recipient of honours such as Principal of the Year 2025, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan National Principal Award, Maharashtra Ratna Samman, Nation Builder Award,etc.  she is also a frequent delegate, panelist, and speaker at leading education summits across India. Beyond skill education, Ms. Varma has been a strong advocate of holistic and experiential learning. The school follows a STREAMS-based curriculum, integrating Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Spirituality/Social Responsibility, supported by the application of SOLO Taxonomy to enable deeper cognitive development. SOLO Taxonomy (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) is a framework used to measure the depth and quality of student learning, developed by educational psychologists John Biggs and Kevin Collis. It helps educators assess how well a student understands a concept, not just how much they know. Under her stewardship, the school campus functions as a living laboratory for sustainability education, incorporating rainwater harvesting, a sewage treatment plant (STP), a solar-powered and plastic-free campus, and green practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The institution’s designation as an RRR Centre by QCI–QCN further reflects its commitment to responsible resource management.
